To celebrate...I'm going shopping!

I concur.

Daily journal is a huge undertaking. Makes me reevaluate my life too much if I have to document it. Sometimes, it's just so nice to cruise along for a while.

Yup.  That's why it's been suffering from neglect and probably will continue to...the handwritten one, at least.    *shrug*   I guess that's where Xanga comes into play.  Unfortunately, I don't get to the same depth or detail online, but maybe that's a good thing.

30 before 30

Not too long ago, a friend spurred me to create a list of 30 things I want to do before I turn 30.  It sounded like a good idea.  I started it almost right away - making the list.  It took me four months to finish that thing...at least!  Puts things into perspective...makes it seem so spelled out...definitive...when written.  Why is that?

There's certainly something about the written language that envelopes me.  Ah...but that's a topic for another day.

So yes, it's been finished for several months now and I've kept up with one thing: reading at least one book a month.  Everything else has been more difficult to achieve.  *sigh*  I kept up with my daily journal so well for a while, then things get so hectic.  Amazing how easy it is to get tied up in different things...and "Cat time" gets put to the backburner.

Upside: I've had the most awesome time in the past couple of months with my friends.  Journal time...it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.  *^_^*

Tonight - I push forward with my book for February, keeping pace with 24, and tending to my journal.  One of these days I'll make that trek across the Golden Gate, finish Sex and the City, travel to different locales around the world, and all the other things on my list (before I turn 30, which is surprisingly approaching rather quickly      ).

Yay for Pork!

Just cooked some pork for dinner.  I must say...pork is awesome.  You can get almost any cut of pork, season, cook and voile...perfection!  Mmmm.........

Another year drawing to a close...

Lunar New Year is right around the corner...and my mom says that it's going to be an unlucky year for me.  I thought that's what this past year was.  WTH?!  It might be easier to just say that every year is unlucky...that way it'll always be awesome whenever something good happens.    Anyway, all that talk about bad luck...I think I've had quite a bit of fortune this past year.

Sure, sure...matters of the <3 have been quite challenging, I quit one job and started another in a completely different industry, I've had to deal with a pain-in-the-ass coworker (still do, but things are much improved - and who doesn't have one of those anyway? Not worth complaining about.).  On the other hand, I've got a job that I enjoy.  I'm working for a company that I like.  I like my duties at work.  I feel like I'm contributing to something important.  I've got a great apt all to myself.  I finally have a couch and some furniture in my apt other than my bed and dresser.  I have a family that I love and that loves me in return.  Not to mention all my wonderful friends: China Crew, RW, JP, BH, KGD girls, HC, LV, AL, IC...the list is too long.  Plus, I've got Zipcar.

All in all, the year of the Rooster is awesome!  Can I call it the Year of the Phoenix instead?    Guess I just did.
